The cartridge is fine but the hot and cold water filtration system is sold under the Insinkerator name (although it wasn't made by the famous Insinkerator but by Emerson. a subsidiary. One owns the other) , it is an absolute disaster. I've had 5, the heater invariably burns out within a year, the plumbing is cheap and leaking, the faucet, which costs an outrageous $285 to replace, corrodes and stops working after a few years. Buy their Insinkerator only "Evolution" which will also corrode badgers (unless they decide to make it in stainless steel now). If you want less, buy the Evolution 3/4. But whatever you buy, make sure it's stainless steel. As far as the filter system is concerned, there are the best brands. I can't find anything better than recycling the Insinkerator Evolution for the home. Their commercial models for restaurants are also excellent. Although there are very good tankless heaters on the market for the whole house, kitchen or bathroom (today I would never put a water tank in the house), I have not yet found one for the kitchen sink to make tea without using a kettle.
