It is very convenient to have one device that does many things for you instead of lugging around many individual functions. I bought a Macbook Pro and was pleasantly surprised that none of my current devices connect to it! I like that I can: 1. Have more than one monitor to work with - with a VGA connection I can have multiple monitors or an external monitor when I am working.2. Host a movie night by connecting your projector via HDMI. The response time is good and there are no lags.3. Transfer photos to my Macbook with a memory card reader4. Chargers5. Connect an external mouse and keyboard6. Transfer files to and from Mac with a USB device I'm happy with this purchase - it would cost me close to $100 to buy the devices individually. It also helps that its color matches that of the MacBook and it looks really solid and well built.
