Easy to use. Simply insert one AA battery and position it to pick up a signal from Fort Collins, Colorado. It takes about 5-10 minutes for it to pick up the signal, start moving the hands, and finally set the hands at the right time. . It's quite interesting to watch. A few days later I got up at 3am to go to work and saw him do the same maneuver again. At first it seems like the hands have stopped moving because the seconds hand has stopped. The next thing I noticed was that he moved forward a little to set the correct time. It's not that the time was wrong, but it seems the hands stop when receiving the signal and then slowly advance at the correct time for a few minutes. I agree as long as the time is always correct during normal waking hours. My goal when buying this clock was that I wouldn't have to take the clock down from the wall twice a year during summer time. Battery life is expected to be around 2 years, but the instructions recommend replacing the battery before 2 years is up to avoid wasting time or losing clock functions when the battery dies. If I could get closer to 2 years between watch removals I would be very happy. I am very happy with this purchase.
