These brakes are all most people will ever need if you're a regular mountain biker and keep your speed low enough. I ride downhill a bit and these brakes work great and don't burn/overheat for what I use them for. I'm on an old full suspension 26 inch bike for some context. Some of the newer bikes with larger wheels may need better brakes to go downhill. These are entry-level base brakes, but they do what they're supposed to, and they do. It's good. Make sure you make a few stops to pin them down before bombing him down the hill or they won't bite. Also, be sure to tighten the mounting screws well. Mine came loose halfway through. a complete lack of customization but you get what you pay for and to be honest I personally don't need them. I think for the price it will be hard to find anything better. I would recommend them to any casual cyclist on a budget.
