Great bang for the buck! These brakes work great on my old mountain bike.

These brakes are all most people will ever need if you're a regular mountain biker and keep your speed low enough. I ride downhill a bit and these brakes work great and don't burn/overheat for what I use them for. I'm on an old full suspension 26 inch bike for some context. Some of the newer bikes with larger wheels may need better brakes to go downhill. These are entry-level base brakes, but they do what they're supposed to, and they do. It's good. Make sure you make a few stops to pin them…

Great upgrade for cheap mechanical brakes!

I have used my Schwinn Axum for several months and have always been very disappointed with the mechanical brakes that came with it. I've been looking at these brakes for a long time and decided it's time for a change! Couldn't be happier with the upgrade for the price. Installation was VERY easy. These brakes are much easier to get right than mechanical brakes. Just install them a little loose and then pull the lever to align them, tighten the 2 screws, release the lever and you're done! I…

Great upgrade to mechanical disc brakes

This kit comes pre assembled and pumped. Super easy to install and works great! A major upgrade over mechanical disc brakes. I bought my wife's bike 1.5 years ago and was happy to have disc brakes instead of the old V or rim brakes. But they were always a lot less powerful and more prone to squeaking than I was happy with. After doing some research and finding this upgrade kit, I ordered it without hesitation. It was very easy to install and I'm thrilled with the results! It's not a…

Bought for $50 from this seller

Seller's package: JGBike offers you a nice package with a nice set of extra installation bits. At $50 this pack is a steal. For $100, no. Head over to this big nameless online auction and find a set of Shimano MT-200 brakes. Everything in this kit + a pair of Avid G3/HS1 drives (my pick is G3) are available for $52 1 month from China or $66 1 week from US. However, if you can't wait, you can get this package with the Prime in a day.Shimano MT-200 brakes included in this package: They are for…

Pros
  • Shipping was very fast
Cons
  • Only available in black

I just installed these on my old Buzz Novara, replacing Avid BDBB mechanics that were too old and worn to encourage me to take the time to get more life out of them. Now, my brakes didn't work optimally from the start, but I tried them, holy moth! Engagement is smooth with a slight pull on the handle, and rear-wheel-drive-only braking performance is impressive. I live in New Orleans so most of the time I ride NOLA roads with NOLA drivers and everything goes very smoothly. So it's a bit of an…

Perfect Fit Front/Left Rear/Right 160mm Rotor!

So I bought this brake kit to replace some POS Juicy 5s that just stopped cutting it. I read many reviews of different front/rear brake kits and I was sure I would get a kit configured for rear/left front/right brakes and my bike is not designed for that. My bike (2012 Stumpjumper) is set up front/left, rear/right (properly). I borrowed a bleed kit, ordered new olives and inserts, and was ready to customize the brakes to my setup. NOT NECESSARY!. These brakes were set up exactly how I needed…
