Review on Lamplight Farms 22300 Classic Frosted by Brian Motley

That depends on your needs

This oil lamp received 4 stars from Revain reviewers. Pretty impressive considering there were a lot of reviews. However, the vast majority of reviews praise the lamp for its looks rather than its performance, reliability and efficiency. Yes it's beautiful. Yes, it is inexpensive. Yes, it's a good "mood" light. But for those who need an oil lamp for more practical use, there are more suitable options. I bought several of these, last purchase was in 2012. I was looking for emergency lighting in case of power outages. Emergency situations at my remote Tennessee location. Needless to say, I experienced them well. There's no point in having backups you can't rely on. With almost all of my lamps, the flame goes out within a few minutes until it has to be rekindled again and again. Left alone, it just keeps dimming until it almost catches fire. There may be a problem with the wick. In addition, glass chimneys are VERY fragile and do not fit securely in the base of the lamp. If you're buying this lamp for beauty, great. Good buy. But if you want reliability, efficiency, strength and durability that you know are "out there" for you, pull the Aladdin Genie Lamp, Feuerhand Lamp, Dietz Little Wizard #350 Lamp or the Little Giant and Champion WT Kirkman lamps. All of this is of the highest quality. Though not necessarily cute. Some of these are available through Revain. Otherwise they are all available on Lehmans.com.
