Review on Slice Engineering Boron Nitride Paste by Mike Wallace

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Makes a difference, worth the price

Had to replace an all metal hot end due to a sticking set screw. When I got a new one, I decided to try this paste. I've only used it on the heating element in the heater block, but you can use it on the thermistor and where the hotend's cooling block meets the hotend's neck (note: although I thought this might help if there's plastic leaking out of the loose neck that hot end). On the other hand I wouldn't recommend this as I think it will be easy to get the paste in the filament path.). I have noticed very consistent temperatures and shorter heat up times since using this product. It looks like you're getting a decent amount and a couple of applicators. I used a very small amount and the tube is resealable so should last a while. I'm all for cheap upgrades and this is a great option. Slice Engineering makes some of the best hotends out there, so they know what's important. This is my second product from them (the PTFE laced "Protector" paint is another great cheap upgrade) and I've been happy with both. Boron nitride is a much better option than traditional thermal paste as it is stable up to 1000 degrees C. To use, apply it into the opening of the heating block and then insert the heating element. Wipe off excess and allow to dry WITHOUT heating. If you don't wait long enough, any residual moisture can leak out and you'll have to wipe off the excess. Overall I highly recommend this product. It's listed as $10 on their website, but that doesn't include $5-6 shipping, so I'd just pick it up here on Amazon for the sake of simplicity.
