Review on πŸš— Denso 550-0204 TPMS Sensor: Accurate Tire Pressure Monitoring for Enhanced Safety by Ted Higdem

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Quality part but if I had to do it again I would just pay the tire types for it.

buyers beware. Depending on the vehicle (this applies to a 2012 Accord) you may have to pay to have this sensor 'paired' with the vehicle. Newer cars (2013 (of course) and newer on the Accord) have a button. You push a button and drive a bit, and the car does the rest. This is called indirect programming. Another method, called direct programming, requires a special scanner. The tire shop I used charges $30 for the program (and $80 for a new sensor), but for some reason they couldn't get it to work. You ended up having to spend $80 at the dealer just for the programming (they also wanted $100 for the sensor, so $180 plus to have the theft done for you. Remember that a new steel wheel is $60 and a new one tires $100+). ). i.e. the sensor with programming costs like a brand new wheel and tire). You need a tire shop buddy to make this DIY worthwhile.

Pros
  • tires and wheels
Cons
  • working speed
