I bought this security system (SC-1000) in 2009 and it has been working ever since. There have been a number of burglaries in our area lately, so I figured it was time to act. Back then, we couldn't afford to pay a big company like ADT a monthly premium, so I went that route. I ended up hanging the dialer in the basement next to the electrical box in the pantry. I hung the main controller in the hallway outside my bedroom. I placed a motion sensor in my living room (most movements on my first floor can be picked up from here). I installed two motion sensors on the front and back door. I bought a second keychain (for my wife). Setup is easy - just turn on the control panel and dialer. They run on a 9V battery, but the battery lasts about 24 hours before it runs out, so you'll need to plug it in. It was relatively easy to hide the cables in the wall to make the control panel look like a pro. Assembly. After turning on the control panel and dialer, all you have to do is follow the instructions (well written) and sync each sensor to the control panel box. Finally, you need to set up a number dialer to make calls and record a voice message. I have my wife, parents, friends, etc. (in order of priority of course). I've also set up separate codes on the control panel so people can access my home when I'm not around tending my pets. They can be customized for each person and for each zone so that they can easily remember the code. Have them pick something they can easily remember. Every night we use this to turn on all sensors and zones while we sleep. We also use it without a motion detector and only fix the doors. Both work perfectly. Alarm clock is LOUD. This is the best part of the system. Very loud. A few notes about the product: Upon arrival, I noticed that I did not receive the correct power supply for the dialer. I had to contact support and ask for a replacement. This lasted 3 weeks. I hooked it up to the new adapter and set up the voice message people would get when the dialer activated. I found out the mic on my dialer was broken so I sent it back - 3 weeks to go.
