I have struggled with high pH and high alkalinity. My nitrates are through the roof too! I don't have any fish yet! Petco advised me to remove all of the water and replace it with natural spring water. I tested the spring water before adding it to my aquarium and the readings were perfect. After 24 hours I tested the water and my readings rose again. I did some research to see if other customers are experiencing the same thing as me because of the AquaNatural Diamond Black gravel in my tank. I will drain all the water again to remove this gravel.
