Up Schitt's Creek Without A Paddle

I'm an experienced SUP rider and I really liked this board but I'll jump on it and then add a positive review. I broke a cheap metal shovel in half and got stuck 2 miles away. The hollow metal literally snapped in half. The pump (after about 30 uses) started leaking a lot of air on its way up and it gets worse every time I take it out. The carry case handle strap broke slightly upon unboxing and I can predict it will deteriorate over time. Now I'm noticing little random bubbles sticking out of the sides of the vinyl and now I'm worried they will eventually grow and pop. I am returning this product and trying to decide whether I should get a replacement or a refund and switch to a different brand. I ended up buying an electric pump (which would have been ideal) but was disappointed that the hand pump fell apart as it's great to have as a backup if I buy an electric pump. Now on to the positives, this is a great board for beginners and I've taken it over 30 times and averaged 7* miles on each adventure. I was very happy with this purchase as I sold my large SUP for this portable inflatable boat. It's lightweight and very portable, allowing me to explore new places. The paddle felt weak and I increased the paddle travel to 16 minute miles so I paddled fast. I mention this because I'm sure the oar would hold up better if you didn't paddle like an animal and just walked peacefully on the water. I have recommended this board to everyone I have spoken to about SUP as SUPing has become a lot of fun and a great solo social distancing exercise. I am very hesitant to recommend this pack to a user who uses it frequently.

Cons
  • A bit crumpled
