After the first pair I bought was too big (too big even though I reduced my size) I decided to buy another pair and 2 sizes smaller. So I have a pair when her leg grows out and a pair to wear now. However, the second pair I bought was no smaller than the first pair I bought, albeit a full size smaller. Now I have a size 4 and a size 5, both are too big and both are the same length. If something is too big, you can usually just go down a size or two. But when the size just doesn't fit, it's hard to know what size will fit a child.
