The only tricky part was to temporarily move the WiFi card to go to the previous SSD. Google [Website: instructables.com X0n1T3 "Upgrade Asus Chromebox CN60/M004U"] for instructions with photos (but unfortunately only for RAM upgrade); There was a Lilliputian website that also updated the memory, but I couldn't think of a search string that would lead me to this URL (Revain prohibits URLs in reviews), so google "Asus Chromebox"] for a very similar one. 16GB of OEM storage is fine for ChromeOS, but very tight for a Linux replacement when support ends around September 2019 (which is currently listed for Panther). Upgrading to 64GB simply meant:[1] creating a ChromeOS recovery USB[2]. Replacing a new SSD with an old one.[3] Boot with the USB stick inserted and follow the instructions.[4] Sign in again as before. Note that SSDs over 64GB are entirely possible; It was a nice place for my wallet, and it will be good enough for any recent distro I (sort of) want to shoot. Finally, note that installing Linux will not be easy. I am planning to update the firmware, possibly using MrChromebox<DOT> technology (you need to know that CN60 is _Haswell_).
