I keep my Mustang in the garage and only take it out when the weather is good, otherwise it sits, and this cover is a soft flannel on the inside and a satin finish layer on the outside. I keep a lid on it so dust doesn't collect on it and nothing hits or scratches the paintwork. The fact is that the other day a box passed the car and slid along the side, this coating protected it from scratches. So for me it's worth it in these times. I love its shiny heavy satin jersey and I like blowing the dust off the lid before I take it off and because it's smooth the dust blows off instantly. great cover.
