I bought these to use as cargo lights on my trailer but ended up using two lights as lights on my generator. They work great but I had a problem installing them. Pros: Rugged metal body, fully sealed interior for cable attachment, easy installation, optimal cable length, bright light. some. Please note that the attached picture shows factory tinned leads; Real wire consists of about 7 hair-thick strands, which together are even smaller than the tinned bundle at the end. While this can be adequate for charging the LED itself, it is very difficult to work with and makes it difficult to connect to a standard car cable. The ease of installing the case is more than offset by the complexity of connecting the wires. The wires are fragile because they are so thin and so small that they do not fit into a standard wire connector (butt joint, ring terminal, etc.) used in automotive wiring. Tinning the wires with solder didn't help either. I ended up using a Euroblock screw terminal for the connection and even then the tiny wires needed a good strain relief to keep from breaking. If I had to do this over and over again I would probably choose a different product with thicker wires for easier installation. Hopefully the manufacturer will either increase the gauge of wire used (even 22 ga will do) or incorporate a splice that connects thin wires to standard automotive wiring.
