This product suits me perfectly. Exactly what I needed. I originally bought this because I saw in one of the Q&A that it can be disassembled (for example to run a string through a hole) but when it arrived I realized that it really wasn't quite disassembleable . I contacted the seller and asked if this was possible and they responded to me very quickly! I was told it was not intended to be fully disassembled (to the point of unplugging the cords) and was advised not to recommend people try it as this is the unit could accidentally damage it but they gave me instructions to try this I wanted to go ahead and try taking it apart. I had to thread the cord through a small hole in the lamp I was building, so I gave it a try. It worked great - the instructions they gave were clear and helpful, and I'm grateful to them for taking the time to help me, even though they don't typically recommend taking the unit apart. You could just tell me to return it and get another one. Or they could have told me "bad luck" but they didn't and I appreciate it! Some reviews mention that the switch is too close to the socket, but I think that's the ideal distance for a table lamp or something. Watching the seller's video explains that there are two versions of this product - one with the switch closer to the wall and the other with the switch closer to the outlet.
