So I work for the Salvation Army and bought this to compare with old fashioned probe meat thermometers. When the thermometer arrived I was shocked to see how much bigger it was than it looked on Amazon, but to be honest it's a lot more convenient to use. Nice big easy to read display. It works much faster than probe thermometer. I can check twice, almost three times as much meat as with old-fashioned thermometers. THE THING IS GREAT and for the price it's worth the money. I'm actually considering ordering another one for use at another Salvation Army center. One of the interesting features is that it is magnetic. I can literally put it right on the fridge. If like me you love to cook or grill while drinking a nice cold beer, this thing is even better, it has a bottle opener. Seems too cool. and I know it's used as a meat thermometer, but I've also used it for other foods like pasta, veggies, lasagna, etc to make sure they don't go into dangerous temperature zones.
