We bought these because my husband was a diesel engine mechanic and they used them on large trucks. He didn't trust the lightweight plastics we used for our trailer because they could slide on the pavement. They are rubbery with grips on the bottom that grip pavement and cut into mud/gravel and tread grips on the top. They are made of hard rubber, so they are not light, they are good and heavy! We will never go back to lightweight and cheap plastics.
