Review on 🌸 Mary Ellen's Linen Fresh Best Press Refills - 33.8-Ounce: Effective and Long-lasting by Julie Braaten

I can't say enough good things about Mary Ellen's Best Press!1

I tried this product after seeing it at a quilt show while making my first quilt. I was upset that spray starch burned, flaked, or left "ridges" where it wetted the fabric and made my fabric stiff. BP ME adds density to these lightweight fabrics without being stiff, removing stubborn creases - and also creating nice creases when needed - and does NOT make the fabric stiff as a board! I now use it when ironing my clothes as it gives my shirts a bigger shape and the linen smell is hands down the best. It smells like cleanliness but doesn't smell like a "perfume cloud". I don't know how it works with heavy fabrics like denim, but it works great with cotton, shirts, and light, mid-weight fabrics. Iron doesn't stick. or stain the fabric, leaves no residue. As far as ultra light fabrics are combined with dark fabrics, when quilting I find that light fabrics are thinner (perhaps because of less dye?) and in combination with darker fabrics (heavier) I often sprinkle light fabrics with a few drops. Best press apps. I spray spray ALL my fabrics and hang them on hangers to dry before ironing and cutting for quilts. Once the blocks are assembled I apply a little bit of ME's BP to the block and let it dry before pressing just to have a stronger fabric to work with (newbie here). 33.8 is the largest size. I used 2 x 16oz bottles on a king size Missouri Star quilt (billions of pieces) - my first quilt.
