Love the swinging gate

I bought two of these gates, one that would expand to 51", the other to 46", mainly to replace some wooden pet/baby gates we had had, that required unhooking the closing bar every time we wanted to pass through. I did find them fairly easy to set up (I didn't attempt to screw them into the walls, but used the pressure pads), though it did take some fiddling (I found it was best to go under the distance, and expand the adjustable knob parts, rather than going very close to the total width). The two drawbacks I see with them are that, they're not easily removed and replaced, as they do kind of fall apart when you remove them, and, without the zip tie that's there for the initial installation, they're tricky to re-place in the opening; the other drawback is that I had planned to use them to keep our cat out of certain areas, and, maybe because she's fairly small (7 1/2 lbs), she was able to squeeze through the vertical bars, making me concerned she will get stuck and injure herself, if she tries this when we're not home. They'd be good for a baby/toddler, though, and I really do love the gate feature.

Pros
  • The award-winning design makes it a trusted choice among parents
Cons
  • The gate may not stay in place on door frames with angled or sloped surfaces
