I had 2 Scion TC. Both knobs were melted and needed repairs. The first step was to replace all the button hardware. To get to it I had to remove some plastic panels. To install this, simply unscrew 2 screws and scrape off the rubber. I think this method was faster overall. But it's still kind of boring. The tool provided was very helpful. The fit of the new button cover is tolerable, but far from perfect. It's a bit big and loose. Although it works well and is a definite improvement over the lazy button. The button mount I did on the first TC was better and better than the original new OEM too. If you want to save time and money, and just want it to be better than it was, get this. If you want something better than a brand new OEM, look for a full button bracket replacement.
