I was very impressed by this rug. It was packed very well for travel so nothing was wrinkled. It was tied to keep it round, wrapped in plastic, and the box was padded to keep it from moving too much. The rug itself was a little rippled when I first unrolled it, but it flattened out fairly quickly and was fully flattened by morning. The size is perfect for installing in front of a sink or stove where you don't need a full counter cover. The base of the carpet is a great material that does not allow slipping, but at the same time it is not sticky and does not leave marks on the floor. The color of the rug is a very light grey, more of a cool gray than a warm grey. It looked an even colder gray under my harsh kitchen lights. It had minimal odor, unlike some I've bought. The upper has a light texture - just enough to provide some grip, but not so much that you can't give it a thorough clean. The best thing about the mat is the cushioning it provides. It's firm yet springy enough to feel relief in your legs/knees/feet. Some mats I have bought are almost too soft and quickly lose their effect when compressed. I don't think this one will do it. In general I am satisfied with this product.
