I needed to replace the inner tie rod ends on my car. I don't have a whistle instrument, but I can easily borrow one for a deposit. However, one YouTuber has demonstrated the use of this type of tool by doing a valuable demo with and without heat treating the threads to make the part easier to loosen. That was very good for them. I saw it here at Revain and thought it might work and for $28 damn it. Why not? I was able to unscrew both sides with no problem and in my case the threads didn't get hot. I checked the spline teeth to see if they would accept the part and there was no sign of excessive wear or breakage after removal (note that I ensure good engagement before I start tightening to avoid the wedges slipping over the surface and causing wear). . I even use it to easily install a new torque setting part. And it worked! What a find! I hope this helps others to find a cheaper and, as far as I can tell, successful opportunity like this. Well, in terms of durability, I can't say it lasts as long as a pipe tool. The part wears out sooner or later. However, for DIY needs, it will surely fit. Oh, and be prepared for it to slip a bit once it all comes loose. Watch your bones. The tension is released when the part is torn off.
