It's a good idea to replace when you remove the AC battery tank.
94 A converted Gulfstream G20 van leaked antifreeze from under the heater core. It came from the valve stem of that little valve we have. It's not that bad to replace if you remove the AC battery tank first. PITA otherwise. Anyway, my air conditioner was completely empty, so no problem.
