All wine, no whining.

If you live in a state that doesn't ship alcohol without a license (ahem, Kansas/Missouri) and you don't trust a carrier with your best bottles, either have a bloody awesome farewell party, or you buy them, pack the wrapped bottles around your clothes in your strongest suitcase and hope for the best. Success – all eight returned to Washington from Kansas City safely. it is safest to send. That's how your stuff ends up in Kansas City in the first place (in Dad's linen closet). We'll be back in Healdsburg in July, but since we're both too impatient to wait a few months, we'll probably bring some and ship the rest. With careful unrolling, WineSkins can be reused. If the glue starts to get a little gritty after a few months, I just use packing tape. I used a Samsonite 24 inch hard wall suitcase with wheels. 8 bottles of wine in this bag size for clothes and other travel. Things weighs a ton and takes up a lot of space. Also, I don't know if I'd pack a whole suitcase full of wrapped wine bottles - they're comfortable, but not so comfortable that I'd trust them without clothes to cushion some of the shock of this in other reviews, traveling with so many packed Bottles of wine almost guarantees you an extra TSA search, and my suitcase was no exception, so it's a waste of time and money. to lock your luggage. If your wine is so valuable that you're worried it might be stolen from your checked baggage, your best bet is to pay for direct shipping.
