The strap is quite thick, possibly to accommodate LED lighting. It is easy to put on and take off. I only gave 4 stars because one size really doesn't fit all. I think this is made for someone with a waist of at least 36 inches. I'm petite and even with the belt adjusted as small as possible, it doesn't sit very comfortably around my waist. I find that loosening the strap and wearing it around my body like a wallet strap works best for me. Also, it increases the visibility it affords me.
