Review on Dorman 742-251 Power Window Motor for Specific Models, Jet Black by Dawson Schmidt

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good replacement, small savings

Well when I bought the motor for the driver's door on my Bronco I also got this motor for the passenger's door or tailgate, whichever failed earlier. In the end it was the back door. Installation was agonizing because the tailgate can be tricky to work with unless you remove the glass (I was out of the house and had nowhere to put the glass) and I actually had to cut some of the nylon strap on the lid. motor head, which I might or might not have avoided by flipping it. Only 2 of the 3 screws are lined up, the 3rd one requires some drilling but is doable. I've included some photos of the cuts as a guide for any other Bronco owners, it's been 7 months now and I've had no problems with it. I also had to splice and splice the connector for a cleaner install. All in all I have a working tailgate glass again but this motor is a bit smaller and less powerful than the OEM part, just don't mess with it too much and it will certainly take time as you've already climbed slowly lubricate all the moving parts of the mechanism and the rubber in a weatherproof puller. These little motors are durable, the one in my driver's door (see 5 years there and works great. As I said, this one works on some Fords or in my case my Bronco's passenger or tailgate (with some modifications). for your driver's side window is: Dorman 742 -250 window regulator motor
