Review on Sleek Performance: Sony MDREX310LP In-Ear Headphones for Ultimate Sound Experience by Michael Baker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Phenomenal Buds: Headphones

I have the Klipsch IMAGE S4 In-Ear Headphones with Enhanced Bass and Noise Isolation (black) and the Beats by Dr. Dre Tour High-Resolution In-Ear by Monster too, and so far I prefer these headphones. The S4s have excellent sound quality, but they're a lot less comfortable for me and give me a "packed" feeling in my head. The Beats Tour are poorly constructed, uncomfortable and require constant adjustment when worn, although sound quality is good. The sound quality of the EX310 is comparable to the S4 and Tours at a better price. Comfortable, superior sound quality with no high, mid or low emphasis, allowing you to tweak the EQ settings to your heart's (ears') content. J-Cord (right earphone cord goes behind the neck) ideal for training and active use. Comes with a nice pouch with cable organizer which I personally don't need (I prefer the zippered pouch that comes with the XB41EX). It also comes with different sizes of silicone and hybrid earbuds, the hybrid earbuds should offer better noise isolation, but the noise isolation I get with the regular earbuds is fine for my purposes. When spoken to while they're on me I hear faint noises, but I can't make out what they're saying, so at least I'm aware of my surroundings. They remain in the ear without adjustment, even when exercising or walking. I recommend for sound quality, comfort and price. I also like the way they look, but that's personal preference. Update 2/19/12: After using them for about 40 hours (I don't know if "burn" works, but I'm trying anyway). These things pump almost as much bass as the XB41 depending on the EQ setting, and they're slowly overtaking the XB41 in my feel. I hope this is the best place for Sony IEM headphones because based on the performance of these headphones I can only fantasize about how the 510, 600 and 1000 will sound.

Cons
