Review on J B Weld 8281 Professional Reinforced by Joseph Winfrey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's a great epoxy

It's not a miracle and I wouldn't use it to 'weld' a cylinder block. But I think it's just the best epoxy. This has been my go-to epoxy for years when I need a really strong bond. It's inexpensive and extends the life of many household/garage items I own. I try to keep some of these things handy at all times. It's five stars, but there are a few things to note: 1) It's not "super glue" and it doesn't stick together in 30 seconds. . This works best if you can stabilize the item and leave it overnight (24 hours is even better). Well worth the wait 2) It's ugly. If you mix everything together and then let it dry, it turns out to be a rather unsightly dark gray colour. But you don't buy these things to be stylish. FWIW if you need it to look good you can paint this stuff. I used Testor model paint with a small brush and it works very well. 3) Be careful when using - insert newspapers or something else. Even when "wet" the epoxy is difficult to remove. And if it dries, then fine. have fun. If you get it on your skin or under your nails, expect it to stay there for a while. So either use gloves or don't worry. Opened and used tubes can be difficult to clean, so placing them in a ziplock bag is a good precaution. Even unmixed material is difficult to clean. 4) Once you open the tubes they have a "life expectancy" and are not good FOREVER.
