This outfit is so cute! It's marketed for women but I purchased for a 78lb 10 year old who is about 3 1/2 to 4 ft tall. I purchased a large and it fit just right. Not too big and not too small. Strange but I would compare this to a size 12 in big kid (not juniors or women) clothes OR a medium in junior (teen) clothing. I can see where adults are upset with the size confusion. If you're normally a small in women you might fit into a XL.
