My 3 year old still refuses to use a proper toilet so when I go out I have to carry the portable potty seat he uses. I usually use OXO brand pot bags, which have a very nice little cushion that absorbs excess liquid. But they have gone up in price and my child still doesn't want to go to the bathroom. So I looked for an alternative. Now everyone was telling me to just use the grocery bag. Um, no thanks! Grocery bags, at least the ones I buy in stores, are riddled with tiny holes. If the bag is filled with urine and maybe coarser substances, I want something stronger. Get in those little garbage bags. They are very strong and I am on the 6th box of them without a single hole! I use these in place of OXO bags, and while I miss absorbent pads, I don't miss them enough to buy them back when these cheery little trash bags are almost as good. Once my kids are done I tie a tight knot around it and throw it in the bin.
