First off I only paid $20 for this coat and guess what, you get what you paid for. NOT TRUE, I thought the stuff was cheap, even close. A real winter coat looks thin but feels heavy. My son hates wearing jackets, he loves this coat, it's a bit big but that just means he can wear it next year. I'm so glad I bought this coat. My son wears a 14/16, I suggest you size down. 10/12 is perfect
