This is almost a 5 star product. I'm an engineer so I tend to be a bit conservative and meticulous. I'm also a radio amateur. This is a quality product, no question about it. Is this a "toy" walkie talkie for kids? I don't think it's outside the scope of what most "kids" can use. Programmable via channel, button press and switch-on sequence. Nice feature - they are easy to use, my wife doesn't have to learn tones, frequencies, coding; The switches are reliable and do not change accidentally. Why 4 stars? They are advertised as intended for children, but in fact they are more advanced than most children's walkie-talkies.
