I don't see any difference between these and other brands, I really prefer them over metal or metal insulated clamps because they do much less damage to the cable they hold. If you want to make the cord detachable like a task light, just leave a nail and you can lift the cord up and out of the way, but remove if needed. All electrical installations should use both nails and be in accordance with local and national codes.
