Review on Fujifilm X10 Digital Camera F2 0 F2 8 by Amy Riley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best compact camera!

I just bought this camera from Revain. I REALLY REALLY needed a smaller compact to complement my other big, heavy DSLRs. I just want to say that I can take this X10 ANYWHERE. It's the perfect compact camera for me and I can take it with me and hide it under my coat and nobody will even notice it. Well, the camera isn't tiny, but it definitely looks tiny, especially since it has a fairly wide-angle zoom lens. That's why I chose them and not X-E1 and X-M1 which will be released soon. Build quality, design, performance and image quality are SUPREME on this camera. I don't really know what the X20 has for twice the price, but this X10 has everything I need. Low light performance is really very good given the small sensor size. I've actually read on many forums that the X10's output noise isn't that good due to its small sensor, but all I can say is that a lot of these claims are simply not true because I've verified it. I have had many good ISO DSLRs and can say that the X10's ISO performance is on par with some large sensor cameras. Don't underestimate this little camera. I've taken a lot of low light photos (jpeg format) and this thing outputs photos straight out of the camera with very little noise. I am very impressed. I didn't even set the high ISO mode, and removing the noise in LightRoom makes them look even better. Really amazing. The last time I had a point and shoot camera was about 8 years ago and this X10 is a HUGE improvement over what we had back then. I will say that this camera is not for a beginner. If you're going to buy this type of camera, you should at least know how certain features like ISO, shutter, and aperture work. These are some of the simple and basic things that someone should already know otherwise many of your photos will end up being very blurry and bad. And of course you need to read the manual. This is a very high tech little camera. I looked at her for a long time. I also looked at the famous Pentax MX-1, also a very, very good camera, but holding the Pentax in my hand was just awkward and not normal. The X10 fits like a glove and already comes with an external hot shoe which I will be using. Fuji has everything I wanted. I am very happy with my new X10. At a current price of $349, this is one of the best compact cameras out there in my opinion. The only thing I don't like is the very POOR battery life, but I read somewhere on flickr that Radio Shack sells a brand that lasts longer than this Fuji battery that comes with the camera. I took about 100 photos and the battery died. I had the LCD on as I'm currently studying and playing with the camera a lot, but I'll be turning off the LCD and other recommended features soon to save battery life. I still feel like giving this camera 5 stars.
