Review on Forever Litter Trays® Replacement Durability by Dawn Phelps

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is required if you have a ScoopFree tray. Works great and makes poop cleaning a breeze!

Update: 09/22/2019 We just bought a third one as we now have 5 cats and three scoopfree boxes in addition to our regular boxes. The first two still work great. I've seen some recent reviews saying it's difficult to clean. I don't think that's true. Don't skimp on the crystal debris, and if you change them frequently to suit the use of the box, it's not difficult to clean up the wet crystals on the floor. I use Lysol wipes and if something gets stuck I spray an unscented Anti-Eiky Poo on it and after a quick soak it comes off. Anti-icky Poo is great for any urine smell. They saved so much money and best of all we never had a leaky floor when I was too lazy to change them. I also saw a review that it's overpriced. I do not agree. In my opinion it is a niche product that is not produced in sufficient quantities to keep the price down. After years of using my originals, it doesn't retain any odors (I thought I'd have to replace them in a few years, but so far they're fine). It's a solid material, not cheap plastic. It's just my two cents. lol fiction. I have four cats and a special litter box in the basement. Our newest addition decided he just wanted to go into the downstairs bathroom and use the crystal filler (we got him when he was about 6 months old and he got used to it). So he continued. Peeing in all the downstairs litter boxes until we finally gave up and moved the litter box upstairs. Since we have four cats, I figured it would be more economical to buy a reusable litter box. He's also used to using a specific crystalline filler and I didn't want to switch to another at first, although I plan to try the shell makers' filler forever. For the first week, I used the tray that came with Scoopfree first (while waiting for the Forever Litter Tray to arrive). It was ok but since I have so many cats that poop in the box I prefer to remove the poo once a day so it doesn't get too smelly. It was a bit of a hassle moving the top of the box around the small plastic pieces that are sticking out. I would often scatter the garbage or touch the feces to throw them off. I was also concerned about cat urine leaking through the box. The Forever tray was simply packaged and was easy to remove from the box. The first thing that struck me was the plastic it's made of. It's a hard plastic that hasn't had any stains or scratches from my cats so far (have been using it for about 3 weeks). It is very easy to wipe off after the garbage has been thrown away. I only use a Clorox wipe. I noticed that the lip that stays under the front of the box is raised and curved inward and does a great job of preventing feces from escaping when full. I think my favorite part about it is the plastic extension that comes with the box and attaches to the "lid" that slides up and down. It blocks the poop (though honestly not as much as the closed box on the reusable boxes that come with the machine) but allows me to peel off or completely remove the lid and clean out the poop. MUCH EASIER. I think this is important if you want to clean the box every few days. I just take a used grocery bag, put everything in it and that's it. This is of great importance to keep the box fresh. To be honest I don't know why they don't build a car like this. Overall, the box does its job well. This makes cleaning the faeces much easier and makes cleaning a pleasure. Just throw it away, wipe clean and you're done. I know some people like the idea of just throwing away the disposable tray, but it was so easy (even easier than a regular box) and it's so much more eco-friendly. I happen to have dr. Elseys for seniors with no issues at the moment but I'll try 'Just the Crystals' filler forever made by the litter box when I run out. I am very happy with this tray and like I said I think it makes an already great litter box system that much better. One last note: I had a few questions and to my surprise the owner of the company answered me. He did an excellent job of answering them and I really appreciate that.
