First, the physical design of this controller is almost flawless, in my opinion. By that I mean it's a perfect replica of the XBOX 360 controller, which it was clearly modeled after. Even the AA battery compartment is interchangeable. Now it doesn't have a headphone jack, but for my purpose, that doesn't bother me. The weight and the quality of the materials were satisfactory at this price point and even better than I expected. But why 4 out of 5 stars? Well, despite the price, there are some issues with the "feel" of the keys. I've ordered a few more so I'll be back to see whether this is a quality control issue or an actual design issue. But so far my first sample has a buggy cross. Left and down seem fine, but the right command often doesn't register without a stomp, although that seems fine. This is a major disadvantage and the biggest disadvantage of my sample. I hope this is just an isolated case. The second downside is triggers, which are notoriously not very good. Rather than being linear, they get brighter the more you click and are difficult to control precisely in a game like Forza. Also, my right trigger offers less resistance than the left, which is a little annoying since my left trigger is more predictable than my right. The last "bug" and I'm not sure whether it is the controller or some other problem. , but the joystick's dead zone wasn't as predictable as we'd like. Looking at the game controller's Windows interface, it looks perfect. But in games it was difficult to make very small changes with joysticks. However, the center was exactly centered on my sample. But that's all I found wrong. At close range and line of sight, I didn't notice any noticeable lag in response, which some have reported. They may have upgraded the WiFi, or there could be range/LOS/low battery issues. I am not sure. But my first impressions here are very positive. I love that it uses AA batteries which I always have on hand to recharge. Overall I would prefer it over a used XBOX 360/One controller in most cases. I've tried this route and they often have so much joystick wear that it kills the experience. With improved quality control and trigger feel, it can pass as a completely legitimate system controller.
