"You must purchase the MB8200 to upgrade to our new antenna." That's what King Jack customer service told me. A low branch broke the stem of our previous King Jack OTA antenna so we bought a new one thinking it would be a direct replacement for the King Jack on our Lance 2017.5. Well, King changed the design of the base, from the triangular "Clam" base to the current "Octopus" style. Oh, problem number one, discovered after we removed the old antenna from the roof and left the drive-thru open to the weather (thankfully it didn't rain). There was a very long wait for a call to King Jack support and then the person who answered took the message. King called back, but due to poor cell phone reception, the call was dropped. They didn't call back so I had to restart the process with King. "You have to buy the MB8200 to upgrade to our new type of antenna. It closes any existing holes, and that's what you need! That's what they told me when we finally connected. So, with a hole in the roof from the uninstall, we ordered the MB8200 and paid extra for next day delivery. I received the MB8200 tablet and found two lies: 1. MB8200 does NOT cover all previous holes (see photo) and 2. "Stainless steel hardware included" was a lie. A trip to Ace Hardware, 5 miles away, solved this problem for an additional $6.30 for stainless steel hardware. After putting everything together we found #1 on top - the mounting plate does NOT cover any existing holes. Wow, terrible support. What a waste of time, just had to put the octopus base on the roof and seal all the open holes with Dicor because we ended up doing it anyway. I have to question the quality of the company when they redesign a product and produce an adapter plate that doesn't actually adapt the old product to the replacement! Yes, and about this customer service. When they said the gear was "missing," they offered to ship the gear but I had to provide proof of purchase and email them. INDEED? I've been through all these troubles, and you want me to do some more to get my lousy $6.30 hardware in the mail in a week or two? A complete approach to products and customer service which is why I gave this product one star.
