I bought this for my wife's sewing machine. The device has four possible mounting methods. The sewing machine is mostly aluminum so the magnet doesn't work. I will not drill the machine to use nuts and bolts or metal screws. This leaves a sticky pad that doesn't have a convenient attachment point that allows the light to hit its intended target. The light beam is too wide for accurate tracking. And the beam has very limited targeting capabilities since the device has only two axes of rotation. It needs a ball joint so that it can be steered in any axis. Fatal Mistake: The way the batteries need to be installed requires a thin plastic sleeve to insulate the battery case to prevent the batteries from being shorted to the metal frame again. Devices. This sleeve is easily damaged or deformed if batteries are installed incorrectly, or the sleeve may be lost. In any case, the device may not work. Poor mount and target design and potential battery issues make it a poor choice for any mission I have. I will never buy another one and recommend avoiding it.
