It's great if you're packing a lot, but you definitely compromise by having a smaller fin. However, for the light snorkeling we did, we were perfectly happy with it. They cut my legs a bit so the neoprene shoes helped a lot. I would also buy them if you are going to wear them for a long time (snorkeling 3-4 hours a day). Also note that this is a fairly limited market flipper. I mean, if portability isn't a HUGE issue, go for the bigger ones. You'll appreciate the effectiveness of large fins, and they're actually not that much smaller. Each of these fits nicely in the bottom of a suitcase. For what they're designed for, they're great.
