Great Drills FOR THE MONEY

These are NOT premium drills. Like most modern Dewalt items, they are made in China from Chinese steel. If you want the best, you pay seven times as much and buy from a well-known American manufacturer. There are still a few left. I have and am very happy with THESE bits. But my review relates to THESE bits. I give them five stars because they are very good value for money. I bought them for office use when I don't want to use my good parts. I was very happy with them. Some people give these beats less than five stars and complain that they are cheap Chinese junk. Well, if you're crying, it's a 21-bit set that's only $23! What are these people expecting for $23? I do not use these bits on ferrous metals. You can use them on metal, but they'll need sharpening soon. I mainly use them on aluminium, wood and plastic. If you're looking for premium drill bits for drilling metal, try the US-made Triumph Cobalt Steel 15-bit set for $160. Or for wood, try Lee Valley Tools 7-Bit Carbide Tip Set, which will set you back $135. These two bit sets are premium tools. Just remember the tool rule: you get what you pay for. Good tools pay off. I can't understand reviewers who buy a $10 tool and then complain that it's lower quality than the $50 version.
