Review on 🚿 Grohe 46092000 LadyLux Hose: 15mm x ½ x 1500 inches, Chrome - High-Quality Plumbing Replacement Hose for LadyLux Faucets by Carl Estell

Easy install, listing is still a mess (1500 inches?!?)

Old hose burst after almost 20 years of service causing slight flooding under the sink but turning off the faucet didn't get that bad anymore . The hose is easy to replace. Tools are not required. Other reviewers have suggested using different lubes to get the hose going through the faucet, but that's not necessary and strikes me as a bad idea. Removing the old hose is the first step. Under the sink is a plastic sleeve, similar to the Gardena garden hose connector, that connects the hose to the metal part of the faucet. You pull back on the clamp on the coupler and then loosen the hose. (You may need something to catch drips if you do this.) The coupler threads onto the end of the hose. It also helps keep the spring loaded hose guard in place. Unscrew the coupling and remove the spring from the hose. Save the clutch and spring, they are not included in the hose kit. The next step is to pull the hose out of the end of the spray gun. Don't over tighten. If the hose gets stuck, stand back a little and try twisting it a bit as you pull. It should come out easily with a slight twist. Once the hose is free, unscrew the spray gun from the other end by turning the knurled metal fitting. Installation is the reverse order. The hose is ready for use, all the necessary O-rings and fittings are already installed. Simply screw the sprayer onto one end and then begin pushing the hose through the faucet body. Again, it may be necessary to twist the hose slightly to get it through. One reviewer suggested petroleum jelly, but don't listen to him. Put the spring on the hose under the sink. This can be the hardest part. It's easy at first, then you have to go inch by inch. Once you've done that, screw the sleeve all the way in to hold the spring in place. Then pull back the collar and slide the muff over the metal bar that supplies the water. With any luck, your repair is complete. The old hose was kinked under the sink, which is probably why it burst. We found the old hose to be a bit difficult to pull out, but never bothered to figure out why. In any case, it's probably a good idea to replace the hose from time to time, but especially if you notice a problem. Grohe has a lifetime guarantee, but in this case it looks like something happened under the sink and it wasn't Grohe's fault. Earlier we had a rip in one of the plastic covers which left a mess under the sink. Grohe was good at replacing it under warranty, but it's a bit annoying that an expensive faucet uses a cheap plastic part. Of course, all the water that comes out of the faucet also goes through the plastic tube in the hose, so I think all of this requires trust in plastic. Either way, there are yellow muffs, green muffs, and maybe even red muffs. You will read various things on the internet about what is best. In this repair I used the new green clutch that Grohe sent with my warranty claim. (I replaced the coupler on one faucet, but the other faucet never had a problem, despite being used more.) Bottom line, if you're replacing a hose, to be safe, you can replace the coupler on the one at the same time, even though they're fairly expensive. I also installed a water alarm under the sink, cheap insurance that I hope I won't need. I see that the listing of this product is still a mess. , say "15 mm x 1/2 x 1500 inches". 1500 inches is 125 feet so it's wrong. The packaging says '1/2' x 1/2' x 1500mm', which is still a bit crazy, but at least it may be true. 1500 mm is of course 1.5 meters or just over 59 inches. One of the 1/2" ends is unthreaded and really only connects to a Grohe hand shower. The other 1/2" end is threaded, but it's really just for the plastic connector. Without knowing the threads per inch or mm, it's hard to say what else can be attached. I didn't want to experiment. The listing also includes a cryptic chart with arrows and numbers, but I have no idea what it's trying to tell us. , but the price told me it was just one copy, so I didn't care. Only one hose is currently listed, but you still won't get a 1500 inch hose.
