This item works great. At first I was skeptical about the Ripple function. It seemed like an unnecessary gimmick. But the more I used it, the more convinced I became that it worked well and the battery in the grip (which I assumed needed constant replacement) worked and worked. It seems to me that the aiming point of the nozzle is actually quickly shifted due to the vibration of the entire handle. And that actually seems to be an advantage because it allows the target to cover a slightly larger area quickly. If I turn it off, I miss it. Like all of these waterjet devices, they don't last forever. Pumps in it periodically fail. But I get a few years from each of them and for what they do I wouldn't be without them. My dental hygienist says I have 20 year old gums! Serious. One of the main benefits of the waterjet is that it penetrates under the gums and massages daylight out of that area, strengthening and cleaning to keep your periodontal pockets small and gum tissue healthy. to teeth restored with crowns etc. which tend to accumulate food and irritate the periodontal pockets in these places. Being able to easily blast these areas is great. And wherever the tooth meets the gum, it's good to be able to remove the plaque that starts to grow there. You'll feel great when your gums are growing and "formed". You can adjust the water pressure to start gently and gradually increase power as your gums become healthier. As with other similar units, the temperature of the water also affects the pressure. Warm water comes out softer than cold water. Obviously there are some plastic or elastomeric parts in the pump or maybe the hose that create more pressure when it's cold and hard and less pressure when it's warm and more flexible. You can also vary the pressure. I don't know what else to say. This is a water jet gum cleaner and it works as well as anything I've tested. The tank holds plenty of water and the reliability has been as good as any I've used. Not perfect, but none of them seem to last that long.
