I love the flexibility and furniture look of this drawer! and the bottom (it's just a tray) and you have a nice cage looks like a piece of furniture When my boxer was a puppy we took off the top and used it as a toy and she seemed happier there because I could put it in the room I was working in. As our boxer When she was 8 weeks old (and 8 pounds) we put a tiny cushion in the back and puppy pads in the front. It worked well - she had a place to play or walk if needed and a place to sleep. When she was very small, a few times she never used pillows on her pillow it worked well when she learned to potty and grew a lot bigger we swapped the smaller pillow for a full sized pillow to figure out what size pillow to go with this one. We have Better luck with the Midwest Quiet Time Pet Bed Deluxe Pillow. Like I said it's been a year since we bought the box and 8 months or more for a full sized pillow. Compare the dimensions of the large box or size XL with the dimensions of this box. One fits like a glove (XL?). In fact, she still uses that pillow in her drawer after being used and washed all this time. After becoming trustworthy at home without needing a drawer, we removed her hinges on the front door and she now uses it alone. . We thought about taking it off for a while, but since she still uses it so much, we don't dare. She seems safe there, especially with no front door. If you wish, it is "their home". This drawer is as easy to clean as any other drawer. I use a wood/furniture cleaner, toss the pillow in the wash and occasionally wipe down the bars/tray with paper towels, all purpose cleaners. Luckily our girl loves to keep her garden clean. The only mess she makes is chewing on her toys outside of her tiny home. For those wondering - the bars are close enough together that even the smallest animals can't get in or out of the bars. A friend came to us with a kitten while our boxer was a puppy. We were afraid that our puppy would chase his kitten but they couldn't get close to each other. In any case, we have nothing to fear. We bought this box almost a year ago and it still looks brand new. We still get compliments on how edgy it looks. We've talked about removing it from the living room, but we're using the top for a lamp stand, some decorative items, and that's how it sits in the corner. Maybe we'll postpone it when she stops using it, but until then we want our girl to be just as fine as we are. A great playpen and cage for your pup and when they grow up - a nice, safe home for them! It's worth a few dollars more! We are very happy with this box! I would never consider any other brand. And if our little girl could talk - I'm sure she would support this suggestion!
