I only bought this a few days ago because my 2005 Hyundai Elantra overheated and cooled down within a few miles of driving. The temperature arrow rose and then slowly fell to the middle mark. The heater blew cold air, then hot air for a few minutes, and cold air again. I had to change the fluid every time I had to go somewhere and just before using this product I found drops of moisture and milky residue on the dipstick. The worst part was that this all happened after I replaced my valve cover gasket, replaced the radiator because we found a big hole in the cap area, changed the oil, replaced all the spark plugs and wires (actually I replaced them a second time , because they were destroyed by overheating) and repaired the exhaust and catalytic converter (even after repairing the CC I was burning gas and had some misfire problems, so I had to replace the spark plugs a second time just before trying K&W ). Needless to say, I worked hard on this machine (COUPLES WEEKS) before realizing it was a head/cooling issue. This is my only car and I rely on it to get to uni and look after my child. I'm a single mom, luckily I know a bit about mechanics. So I read all the reviews, good and bad. And I've noticed a trend. All the good reviews said they followed the directions exactly. Here's what I did. First I didn't drive a car for 2 days. I borrowed my mother's car for these 2 days to know that the engine is 100% cold. Then, although I didn't want to add it directly to the new cooler I just bought (a month ago), I had to do it because I couldn't remove the top hose. So I put 1/3 of the bottle in the cooler and then added some distilled water. Because I read in some other reviews that coolant and this product don't mix well. If I need to add more coolant later, I will. For now I used just enough distilled water to top up the liquids. I also added distilled water to my backup tank. ALSO NOTE the instructions say to start the car and let it idle BY SLOWLY ADDING THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF K&W. After SLOWLY ADDING it to the engine at idle, I kept it idling, turned the heater to FULL POWER for 30 minutes and sat in the car watching the temp gauge, it crawled to the quarter mark but didn't get to the half mark, what a great sign! I will try to update this review over time. Having only used it today only time will tell if it actually works. But I stay positive. I need it at least pre-tax, then I can start thinking about a 'newer' car. Hope this review helps someone else. *Update: Almost 2 months later and my car is still holding up! (December 19, 2019)
