In my boat the supplied bolts will fit if you remove the toilet which shouldn't be necessary to replace the valve. The factory instructions on the line state that the two original bolts must be replaced. The two original factory screws have a hex head, which means that a 1/4" socket can be used to save space. They also have a larger diameter so that the second insert cuts deeper into the plastic for a secure fit. Correspondingly larger, but with a cross slot. Both of my toilets don't have enough room for a short Phillips screwdriver to drive them in. I had to use the original smaller original 1/4" socket head screws.
