We were disappointed with this cord when we bought it. While it fits Garmin and is better than the worn cable it replaces, it doesn't seem able to properly communicate with a Garmin device. Once connected, Garmin will assume it is connected to the computer and will take at least 5 minutes to fully boot up. Worse, it causes glitches in Garmin's GPS. Sometimes it recognizes the address associated with it, sometimes it says that such an address does not exist. The GPS seems to be better at finding addresses nearby than say 50 or 100 miles away. This indicates that something is wrong with the GPS device's ability to look up addresses in its memory. All in all, I'd probably be better off paying the extra money and buying a genuine Garmin brand.
