I have had to wear compression stockings for several years. I bought classic socks in traditional black or navy blue and a pair of dark brown socks. woo hoo! But I finally decided to have some fun with my wardrobe, which for me meant red socks. I love these socks! But they are very different from the traditional compression stockings I've worn. If I put them next to one of my other pairs they will be much longer. They don't stretch when you pull them up your leg as they are full length. The compression is not caused by a "give" in the material composition, but by the weave of the material. Pull them up your legs and you'll feel a contraction - and of course they fit tighter in your legs and gradually relax as you go up, but they're definitely not loose! It is, and they say they can be machine washed and tumble dried! I like the style, I like the color. I wish there weren't white markings on the back and sides and high white markings on the heels because I only want the red to be visible when I'm wearing a dark suit and my wings but that's ok. I suspect most people will buy them for workouts, sports, or other outdoor activities rather than business attire. Enjoy it!
