Do not hit or crush the camera

There are a large number of similar 'kids' cameras on the market, in the same price range, with the same internal components and different external parts. I suspect they will work the same way; Be sure to buy a card with the included 32GB micro card (this card includes it, but you'll have to insert it yourself as the instructions don't mention it). In fact, the main weakness here is the instructions. There's something ridiculously called a "manual" but it's a small piece of paper in fine print with text translated from Chinese using Google Translate. Which means it's useless. Sometimes it's funny ("Don't hit or press the camera"), but most of the time it's just cryptic. Some controls are referred to as "Big Head Inserts". The? I think it might be some kind of menu access point. After about 20 minutes of experimenting, I figured out how to take photos and videos. The camera has many functions. It has front and rear cameras, but no instructions on how to switch them (note: the left button is involved). Will a six year old be able to operate this camera? Might be easier than for those of us who are too old for the digital generation, but be willing to experiment. A few good points: when the kitty case is installed, you don't have to worry about the camera falling, it just bounces. And one thing is really easy, which is to transfer pictures and videos to your computer. Just plug the charging cable into a USB port and they will appear (voila!) in Windows Explorer. Much easier than using my Android phone which requires 5 non-intuitive steps that I always forget and have to re-google! Since the camera shoots 1080 HD video, I thought this might be a handy backup for my phone, but the quality isn't good (bad lens?). But that's normal for the home theater, which is the target audience. It can be a fun camera, but you and/or your child will have to play around a bit to figure out how to use it.
