Whilst the blanket looks and feels very good for the price, the smell is absolutely godless - I would describe it as a mixture of rotten eggs and the smell of your hands if you hold the metal for too long but very intensely on got to the point where I choked as soon as I opened the package. I washed it, left it on the balcony for two days, washed it again with twice the amount of detergent and fabric softener, nothing helped. When I leave it outside the smell has decreased drastically but I still can't get rid of it and it's impossible to sleep with that smell next to my face. I'm surprised how few reviews mention the smell - my washing machine literally smelled so bad I had to do a deep rinse with vinegar before I could wash anything else. It's so disappointing because it's so pretty and soft especially for the price but I just don't know what else to do to get rid of this smell or where it came from.
